OMG ME? A Daily Deviation?!

Wed Aug 12, 2009, 1:12 AM
OMG....*fails at coherency*

I'm truely speechless (on the internet?!) but thank-you so much to ^Kitten-of-Woe for featuring my work and to the amazingly lovely anonymous for suggesting/nominating and the kind kind words...I don't think I've ever received such a whopping compliment.

I'm kind of (happy!) crying a bit. In all the years and accounts that I've been on devART, I never ever thought in a million years that I'd actually get a Daily Deviation...I always thought they were reserved for those really amazing people with incredibly insane skills who were just so awesome and wonderful and bursting at the seams with talent. *speechless* This is just so unbelievable and astonashing - thank-you all so much!

Almost a year later and I'm still not quite sure I can top Freya (maybe that'll be next year's task?) and I don't know what else to say without sounding really silly. I always try to go to the furthest reaches for accuracy's sake and I'm glad that it's recognised and that people can enjoy the things that I do.

Umumum...huuuuge ammounts of thank-yous and love and everything to all of my watchers and favers and especially my wonderful wonderful friends, but even more especially my family...and now I'm rambling and this sounds like an Oscar's speech! D:

But I'm totally inspired now and can't wait to see everyone at Manifest + SydMania(hoooopefully?!) and total pimping that Annie, Sefie and I are running the Cosplay Panel on Friday at 1pm!

<3

Edit: And...I don't think I'm going to have time to comment on everyone who's watched and faved and commented, but it really means a lot to me - thank-you so much~

A certain je ne sais quoi

Edit!
Can't believe I forgot to keep editting this in. On the Friday of Manifest this year (at 1pm!) ~warui-chan, ~SefieDA and I'll be hosting the Cosplay 101 Panel...though it'll be more like 201 or 404 because we'll also be covering make-up, posing and the where/how of resourcing stuff from in and around Melbourne. =3

Last Visit: 9 weeks ago
Long time, no see, devART!

And I'm reaaaally sorry if I'm late with/not replying to things, because at the moment I'm staring at this:
957 Deviations, 639 Messages

So it seems it's time for a 6 month update on all that's been going on. Since the last update I've had my work place close down; been and returned from Malaysia/Singapore (it was awesome DX); gotten another job, been given no shifts at that job and found another one! So I think that makes 4 jobs in a year as of March/April =S

Somehow, there's only a week and a bit of holidays left, and then it'll be back to the grindstone for my final semester of school - oh God that's nerve racking D: In between that, I've been splurged on a few newspapers.

Sooo so much fun! I didn't think I would, but I really enjoyed myself. Had a blast on both days and it was great to be surrounded by such wonderful people and costumes. On the Saturday, the first preliminary rounds for Madman's National Cosplay Competition were held, and I was most flattered and amazed to come out with first place - putting me through to the finals, it's so exciting! I can't wait! SPEAKING OF WHICH! Finals will be on November the 14th in Melbourne's Albert Park Citigate Hotel. *pimppimppimp* Do come along, if just to support the other fabulous finalists and watch me flail about on a stage.

Back to SN, Sunday was Kuroshitsuji day with ~warui-chan. Madam Red was such a joy to make and wear - my life demands more ballgowns. We also scored Runner Up for Best Cosplay with our red-ness.

Huuuuuge thank-yous again to ~Repress-My-Memories and ~yiji for housing me during the week-end, it's really appreciated and lovely to stay with you all <3 From Sydmania last year, I think I might've expected a bit more, but it was just a one day event. But any and all of that was totally over shadowed by being able to meet and catch up and talk to sooo many stupidly wonderful hilariously awesome people (you all know who you are 8D) and more congratulations to ~haraju2girls, *cescat and ~K-chan009 for making it through to WCS finals!

Almost forgot! I cosplayed as Ena from Fire Emblem. Unfortunately group plans didn't go ahead, but huge love and thank-yous to the lovely *twinklee who changed into her costume for a shoot with ~Astellecia - it was great to work with you both!

Sadly, things can't be all awesome all the time. Back on May 10th, Mother's Day, I lost my gorgeous girl under some really unfortunate circumstances.

She meant a lot to me, and I'm still not really over the fact that she's simply not here anymore, and as cliche as it is, I don't know if I ever will be. But she will always be loved, and I want to thank everyone over on LiveJournal for their support <333

Because of this and school and Madman, I haven't been nearly as productive as I have been in the past, so I've put off a lot of costumes for this year. Though I did kind of predict that this would happen because of school so uh...just confirmation, I supppose? But along the same lines, because of dance competitions on the Friday of AVCon, Saturday of Animania and Sunday of Manifest I now have fewer costumes to make won't be attending those.

I think that's about all..my brain is dead and I thought this entry was going to be so much more insightful .__. Though wait! I got an 88.5 on a recent dance exam, that counts for something, right?

Also, why can't you set 'Visitors' to be visible to only you? I don't want people to feel named and shamed for having visited my page D:

Off on a wing and a prayer

First most exciting news first! In a week's time, I'm jetting off to Singapore/Malaysia/KL/whicheverothercountryletsmein with ~airymilu for two weeks! I'm super special excited because it's the first time I've ever been overseas, very much looking forward to it! I shall be attending TDA over there and a few other things, so I don't expect to be on/around the net much.

I'd also like to say a HUUUEEG thank-you to ~airymilu for buying me a subscription that I totally didn't realise I had XD Now I can do awesome things like post bitsy images of stuff that's happened!

Awesome awesomeness! Spent half of Saturday in the arcade across the road killing zombies, and the Sunday trying not to get in people's way with Myobi (

Cosplayed as Marlene from Okage: Shadow King with ~
ZuZuMoo as my Ari. Photos to come when we're both on the same continent for more than a day xD It was super fun being dorks and playing games all day. Yumi and I also won Best Group, but she left before the ceremony D;

I've also made a feeble attempt to do something with my YouTube account...there's a few things over there, probably most interesting is a mockumentary ~biccy, ~thecube128 and myself had to make for school: [link]

And some sort of con/cosplay plan list for next year!
Minifest
Melb SupaNova - Myobi (Alichino) + Lal Mirch (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)
Melb Animania - Miku Hatsune (Vocaloid)
AVCon - Maya (Magna Carta)?
Syd Animania
Manifest - Servent of Evil Miku + Gwendolyn (Odin Sphere) + ???
Armageddon
eGames

Arr...I should go plan better D; And draw more! I think that's going to be my New Year's Resolution for the third year running.

Post-Manifest Update

Wed Oct 8, 2008, 3:56 AM
Edit: Went to the physio again earlier today and although my knee's improved from last week, it's really not that great due to a fire drill at school yesterday that involved going down 11 flights of stairs =___=

It's been re-strapped and I just have to keep exercising muscles to get the knee caps to be pulled back into the correct places. Fingers crossed! XD

Also realised the other day that September/Manifest marks one year of cosplaying for me - hurrah! *lights a candle* XD

And I fluffed around in front of the camera for *hiritai on the week end at Daylesford as well ---> [link]

----

Firstly. I've been really terrible with checking Deviations. I've got about 350+ of them at the moment that I need to get through...uh...next week? XD

Secondly. Over the past 3-4 weeks, I've developed Patella Femoral Syndrome; which from what I can tell is where my knee caps are going places they're...not really meant to go n_n; The physio that I saw has said that it's from too much exercise, escalator stair climbing and sitting down/standing up. So I've got exercises to do, tape to apply and hopefully it'll go away before my final dance competition of the year in Ballarat in 4 weeks =/

It's only really been minorly debilitating the last few weeks, especially after dancing, but right now with it being strapped it's more of a an annoying obstacle with moving and just generally frustrating - I want to jump around D;

Thirdly. Yay Manifest! XD Could unfortunately only attend on the Saturday this year, but it was a stack of fun seeing friends and everything again. I think that's really about all I can say. The FRUiTS comp/lolita panel on Friday went, from what I can tell, quite well. As did cosplay on Saturday - finishing on time and everything! Only 4 1/2 weeks until Armageddon =S

Fourthly. I really *really* update my LJ more than this thing, I'm ClamWings over there too so uh, comment to be added? XD

DEATH TO MACS

Wed Aug 27, 2008, 10:14 PM
Half an hour of class left and I hadn't saved my work and the blasted MAC crashes *just* before the teacher comes to see my stuff. Thanks Mac >/

Anyway, Animania last week-end was really awesome. I had a great time and really enjoyed myself...though I sort of tired myself out of excitement on the Friday .__. *ZuZuMoo has pictures and things over on her journal and a better review of things, so go see her XD

Speaking of *ZuZuMoo, her and ~biccy have my hate of a thousand suns radiating towards them for making me want to go Amaranth this year...thanks guys ;^;

Quick journal is quick!

Lastly, as soon as I chuck my games from DiM (Design for Interactive Media) up here, I think I'm all done with back-uploading - yay! Though looking through things, I think I really need to get back into CG-ing pictures and things...whenever I get the time for that ^^;

~Siera
